About ASEC
Established in 2008, Able Security Solutions (ASEC) is a specialist in designing bespoke brand protection and document authentication solutions for our clients within the Asia-Pacific region. We consult with commercial brand owners directly and collaborate with trusted in-country partners for government projects and tenders.
With over 12 years of proven experience within the anti-counterfeiting industry, we advise our customers on the pertinent issues which impact their brand reputation, risk impression of product unreliability and potentially affecting safety through the use, and hence, the lives of their product end users.
We consider protection beyond three dimensions of authentication, including: encrypt-digital, visual, covert and forensic. Today, we represent and collaborate with some of the leading innovative technology providers and security printers globally. We don't just recommend unique or patented anti-counterfeiting features. We take the effort to listen, understand and design solutions, with the clear intention to only include authentication features which are relevant and effective in the application and market context of our customers.
We invest in research, development and continual learning, constantly evolving and upgrading our solution design capabilities. We design our solutions by understanding our customer experience journey, as well as how they deliver their products through their supply chain. In so doing, we ensure that our solutions seamlessly dovetail into our customers' value chain. We can jointly monitor their progress, review periodically, and proactively upgrade their brand protection solutions to keep ahead of counterfeiters.
We serve as our customers' Trusted Advisors. Contact us today for a no-obligation discussion!

MARKETS WE SERVE
We work with brand owners and government agencies to create effective brand and document protection solutions, to guard against counterfeiting, grey marketing, substitution, pilferage and fraud. We collaboratively fight counterfeiting issues in a multi-layered approach, primarily in the following markets.
INDUSTRIAL
Industrial products, components and replacement parts are often targets of counterfeiting, substitution and grey marketing, as most of these products are distributed through a wide and diverse network of parts suppliers. Automotive, aviation, home appliances, electronics and building products markets are just some industry segments impacted by fake or ill-qualify products. The implication goes beyond brand reputation, and it could result in accidents and safety risks.
With brand owners, we design solutions which secure their branded industrial products, components and replacement parts through understanding, protecting and monitoring the authenticity of their products through their supply chains.
CONSUMER
Consumer goods can be in the form of fast-moving-consumer-goods (FMCG), retail goods (including apparels, accessories, wine, etc) or luxury goods. Counterfeit consumer goods are often made of inferior quality, presented under another brand’s name without prior authorisation from the brand owners.
Some of these goods may be produced under unhealthy and unaudited environment. Some of the goods could even
be over-runs from the outsourced factories which produce the branded products. More often today, we see a lot of suppliers producing imitation brands which are designed to look similar, but not exactly alike, to the branded products. They seek to deceive unsuspecting consumers, especially in the sub-urban, rural and smaller cities or towns.
The consumer market has evolved to an O2O (offline-to-online) model. More consumers are trying offline and purchasing online. Over time, most consumers simply purchase online with the assurance of money-back guarantees. Consequently,
fast moving consumer goods and luxury goods have been targeted for look-alike offerings with low prices. In recent years, new e-commerce and web monitoring technologies have been deployed to spot and deal with counterfeit product sales
through online trade boards and e-commerce sites.
Working with brand owners, IP law firms and enforcement agencies, ASEC assists brand owners to navigate this increasingly complex O2O market with brand protection strategies tailored to their supply chain and go-to-market model. We customise our solutions based on a combination of on-product authentication, end-user verification, end-user education, online monitoring and enforcement partnerships.
HEALTHCARE
The routes of fake medicine reaching markets has broadened through the use of the Internet. "In more than 50% of cases, medicines purchased over the Internet from illegal sites that conceal their physical address have been found to be counterfeit," according to the World Health Organisation (Bulletin of WHO, Vol 88, Apr 2010). The real situation could be far worse, especially in developing countries. Regardless, real lives are at stake when unsuspecting consumers or healthcare institutions purchase imitation or counterfeit medicine, be it online or offline.
Medical equipment, personal health devices and even replacement parts, medical consumables and personal protection equipment are not immune to the risks of counterfeiting. Inaccurate measurements may result in wrong clinical decisions being made. Fake replacement parts may cause fire and equipment failure. Unqualified medical consumables may cause allergies and lives. Uncertified personal protection equipment may cause infections to happen, risking the lives of healthcare workers and clinicians.
With pharmaceutical product owners, medical equipment manufacturers and medical consumable producers, ASEC seeks to understand and design solutions which protect their medically certified products through their supply chain. We offer on-product and in-mobile messaging to educate their consumers. Finally, we help brand owners track the locations where there could be incidents of compromised use of their brand through mobile verification.
GOVERNMENT
There are numerous documents and assets within the government sector which require anti-counterfeiting solutions. ASEC had the privilege of providing anti-counterfeiting solutions for government applications, including passports, driving licences, currency and certificates. We work with and through our trusted network of in-country partners.
By understanding the existing infrastructure, problems, user experience and suppliers, we selectively participate through tenders, and collaborate with respective government agencies, to propose solutions which not only address their current challenges and tender requirement, but also seek to offer alternative recommendations, catering to future needs of the agency, where relevant. We incorporate suitable industry leading solution components from our network of proven anti-counterfeiting technology providers, security printers and service partners.
OUR PRODUCTS
Authentication is to determine and be certain about a product’s identity and veracity. Brand owners want to ensure their customers buy their products with trust and remove any possible uncertainties. By understanding their products, their value and supply chain, their customers’ buying scenarios, we work with our panel of optical security providers, security printers and specialty supply partners to design unique brand protection solutions and programs for our brand owners.

RETAIL
Product Pre-purchase Verification
Consumers may want to be sure they are purchasing the real product they are looking for. By enabling either in-label, on-product, or on-packaging physical authentication features, along with ASEC's HogoScan codes for digital verification, brand owners empower their customers to purchase authentic products with a peace of mind.
Coupled with brand, product and use information, they can also extend marketing reach to their customers by educating and creating greater product and brand awareness.
SUPPLY CHAIN
Goods Receiving Verification
Consumer and industrial products alike may require its supply chain to be protected against counterfeiting, grey marketing and substitution. This may require verification at certain or each stage of the supply chain from the factory to the final destination.
ASEC offers HogoView to enable brand owners to have a macro perspective on the aggregation of incidents, status reporting on the supply chain verification health, as well as location and detail on each potential incident of verification compromise. No two solutions are the same. ASEC tailors for each.
GOVERNMENT
Document Verification
Government agencies process and manage sensitive and important national-level documents for their citizens. Document forgery and identity theft are common challenges still existing today.
ASEC has the experience and works selectively with government agencies and our
in-country partners to provide document and ID card protection solutions involving a combination of physical and digital authentication features.
SOLUTIONS
Brand protection solutions should be forgery-proof, effectively detected and made visible to the brand owners on a timely basis. At ASEC, we work with certified anti-counterfeiting technology partners and tailor our combined solutions which address the increasingly complex challenges faced by our brand owners today.
Physical Authentication
We design a variety of anti-counterfeiting features which can be physically verified and authenticated through a layered approach including Overt, Semi-Covert, Covert and Forensic. The format of our solution can be delivered as adhesive labels, wash labels, cards, special inks, NFC/RFID labels, security threads and laminates.
Digital Verification
Our solutions are augmented with ASEC HogoScan's range of encrypted digital verification solutions. This provides real-time anomalous alerts and visibility of incidents of potential verification compromise to brand owners.
Reporting & Traceability
Through ASEC's HogoView, we offer brand owners dashboard-style visibility on heat maps, updates on essential parameter tracking and automated reporting. HogoView can be customised for both desktop and mobile. Pre-defined anomalous alert emails will be sent to notify brand owners as part of proactive enforcement intervention measures.
Consumer Education
and Awareness
By employing HogoScan's encrypted codes, additional
product and brand marketing information can be convertedto end users and consumers. After completing the verification process, options are available to enable information sharing (including warranty, use instructions, post-sales support and product information and collateral links)
